Abstract: Flow regime in microchannels due to their small scales is mostly laminar and turbulent regime which is thermally more efficient is hard to be achieved. In spite of this, with certain flow modulation, Lagrangian representation of advection problem can show chaotic behavior. In this way, a laminar and well behaving flow can show high mixing rates and enhanced heat transfer performance. Wavy walled microchannels are among the designs which can promote and maintain chaotic advection and they are further investigated in this thesis.
