Fabrication of cost-effective and flexible polymer nanostructured substrate for Bio and Magnetic application. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | In recent years, there are increasing research efforts on the fabrication and application of polymer nanostructures. Researchers have explored various methods to fabricate desired nanostructures using polymer materials for a wide range of applications. This thesis worked on large-area synthesis of nanostructures on polymer, especially Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) surface with controlled dimension and location. Fabricated nanostructures were used in the study of directed neuronal growth which required large quantities of polymer nanostructures, reliably and cost effectively. PET substrates were also used in the fabrication of cobalt-palladium (Co/Pd) nanodiscs arrays. The effect of surface roughness of the PET substrate, the grain size of the gold intermediate layer and stress on the magnetic properties of the Co/Pd multilayer films and nanodiscs were investigated. | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/119463 |
