Abstract: TO DATE, IT HAS RECEIVED SO MUCH ATTENTION IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF LOW-COST, LARGE AREA, FLEXIBLE AND LIGHTWEIGHT THIN FILM TRANSISTORS (TFTS) BY USING ORGANIC AND METAL OXIDE SEMICONDUCTING MATERIALS. IN THIS WORK, AIR-STABLE HIGH PERFORMANCE N-TYPE ORGANIC SEMICONDUCTOR, LARGE AREA SEMICONDUCTOR THIN FILM ALIGNMENT, AND LOW-TEMPERATURE SOLUTION DEPOSITED METAL OXIDE, ZINC OXIDE (ZNO), BASED TFTS WERE INVESTIGATED, RESPECTIVELY. FIRSTLY, THE DEVICE STABILITY VERSUS THE ENERGY LEVEL OF THE N-TYPE ORGANIC SEMICONDUCTORS WAS DISCUSSED IN TERMS OF THERMODYNAMIC STABILITY AND KINETIC STABILITY ASPECTS. MEANWHILE, THE STRUCTURE-MORPHOLOGY-PROPERTIES RELATIONSHIPS OF N-TYPE AROMATIC DIIMIDES WERE INVESTIGATED. SECONDLY, SINCE THE SURFACE MORPHOLOGY IS CRITICALLY RELATED WITH DEVICE PERFORMANCE, DETAILED STUDIES ABOUT THE THIN FILM ALIGNMENT WERE GIVEN IN TERMS OF SMALL MOLECULE AND CONJUGATED POLYMERS. THIRDLY, AS THE N-TYPE METAL OXIDE IS AN ALTERNATIVE TO N-TYPE ORGANIC SEMICONDUCTORS, THE P
