Abstract: Otitis Media with Effusion (OME) is a common ear disease once a collection of fluid that occurs within the middle ear space. After the medication for OME fails, a surgery is required to carry out as a treatment for OME in the operating theater, but it has several limitations due to the required medical conditions and procedures. One of the most effective solutions to overcome the limitations of the current arts is to develop the precision surgical device for OME. In this thesis, a precision surgical device is developed to carry out the surgical treatment for OME in a single procedure automatically, quickly and avoiding the limitations of the current arts. Then, a precision motion control system for the device is designed to achieve high precision, high speed and high performance for the procedures. Finally, two stabilization systems for the device to enhance repeatability and success rate are proposed.
