Abstract: The effects of Ti substitution on magnetic properties, including saturation magnetization Ms, intrinsic coercivity Hc, Curie temperature Tc and spin reorientation (SR) transition, have been studied for Z-type hexaferrites Ba3Co2Fe24 -x TixO41 with x=0-0.6. The SR transition from c-plane to c-axis anisotropy is determined, based on the temperature dependence of magnetization at a small applied magnetic field of 100 Oe. The results show that, with Ti substitution, Ms increases to the maximum and then decreases, Tc decreases, while SR transition temperature Ts is elevated. © 2012 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
