Urban geomorphology in the humid tropics: the Singapore case.

Abstract

Summarizes the physical environment and the 'natural' processes, describes the rapid rate of urban development, and measures the nature and intensity of modification of fluvial and slope processes as a result of urban spread. The flood problem has increased, specially for the prevalent short-duration, intense, localised storms, and the location of flood-prone areas seem to be shifting.
