Abstract: A study was conducted to demonstrate the synthesis of ordered hexagonal arrays of uniform PANI nanoparticles in terms of the structure-directing agent (DHNSAE). The study also focused on demonstrating the usefulness of electronic self-assembly in generating the material. The hexagonally ordered arrangement of PANI particles was achieved by precise adjustment of the Van der Waals and electrostatic forces prevalent among the particles. The preparation procedure was composed of a number of steps, such as the the formation of individual primary PANI nanoparticles doped with different amounts of DHNSAE and the formation of these nanoparticles by the process of self-assembly upon continued polymerization. It was also observed that interparticle interactions was the main factor that controlled the structure of the nanoparticle assembly.
