Title: | Chassis influence on the input impedance and SAR characteristics of handset antennas | Authors: | Dou, W. Chia, M.Y.W. |
Issue Date: | 2001 | Citation: | Dou, W.,Chia, M.Y.W. (2001). Chassis influence on the input impedance and SAR characteristics of handset antennas. IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society, AP-S International Symposium (Digest) 3 : 70-73. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | The paper investigates the chassis influence on the interaction between the handset antenna and the human model. The free space input impedance of the antenna varies with different chassis size. Simulated results show that the human model with no hand is inductively coupling to the antenna, and the impedance matching is still good at the presence of human model if assuming that the source impedance matches to the free space input impedance. Results also show that the SAR, another important performance for handsets, can be optimised by properly choosing the chassis size. In addition, the chassis influence on the antenna efficiency is also presented. | Source Title: | IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society, AP-S International Symposium (Digest) | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/112322 | ISSN: | 15223965 |
