Title: | Modeling of local multipoint distribution service (LMDS) channel at 27.4 GHz millimeterwave bands | Authors: | Ravi, K.V. Soma, P. |
Issue Date: | 1999 | Citation: | Ravi, K.V.,Soma, P. (1999). Modeling of local multipoint distribution service (LMDS) channel at 27.4 GHz millimeterwave bands. Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference Proceedings, APMC 3 : 702-705. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | With the growing interest on local multipoint distribution service (LMDS) as a last mile solution to provide broadband wireless connectivity to residential and business subscribers, propagation studies were carried out to assess its suitability in Singapore. In this paper, some preliminary results of the propagation measurements conducted at 27.4 GHz in Singapore to obtain the characteristics of LMDS channel are presented. These measurements provide various characteristics on path loss, average delay and delay spread that give valuable insight into coverage limitations and radio planning of LMDS systems. The wide-band behavior of the propagation channel was studied in terms of excess path loss, average delay and rms delay spread in two environments characterizing typical urban and suburban areas of Singapore. | Source Title: | Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference Proceedings, APMC | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/112269 |
