Title: | Existence-uniqueness and iterative methods for third-order boundary value problems | Authors: | Agarwal, R.P. | Keywords: | existence and uniqueness iterative methods method of chasing Third-order differential equations three-point boundary conditions |
Issue Date: | Mar-1987 | Citation: | Agarwal, R.P. (1987-03). Existence-uniqueness and iterative methods for third-order boundary value problems. Journal of Computational and Applied Mathematics 17 (3) : 271-289. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | In this paper we shall provide necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence and uniqueness of solutions of third-order nonlinear differential equations satisfying three-point boundary conditions. For the linear case, we propose a constructive method which is a variation of the method of chasing. For the nonlinear problems sufficient conditions are provided to ensure the convergence of a general class of iterative methods. Several examples are also included. © 1987. | Source Title: | Journal of Computational and Applied Mathematics | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/103245 | ISSN: | 03770427 |
