ScholarBank@NUS Repository.https://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/151556Thermo-2000TM and Cindu ceramic coatings and porcelain enamel coating metal roof were studied with the use of thermocouples to measure temperatures on three identical models of each brick wall and timber wall constructed at the rooftop of the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Real Estate, National University of Singapore. On the brick wall model, kliplok metal roof with different thickness of ceramic coating was compared to untreated surface roof and insulated metal roof. On the timber wall model, kliplok metal roof with ceramic coatings and porcelain enamel roof was compared. The ceramic coating showed that it was effective in reducing roof surface temperature. Cindu ceramic coating had the optimum thermal performance compared to Thermo-2000 and porcelain enamel coating. White metal roof surface had a better reflectivity compared to blue surface. The effect of totally enclosed and natural ventilation models were also studied and showed that the room temperature was not affected during the daytime.Metal roofCeramic coatingEnamel coatingBrick and timber wall modelsHeat transmissionVentilation effectTHERMAL PERFORMANCE OF METAL ROOFING PAINTThesis
