Random characters and the correlation properties of quantized signals are discussed, and error performance in communication is analyzed. It is shown that these sequences not only possess extremely high security in comparison with both conventional sequences and earlier chaotic communication schemes, but also show good performance on the Bit Error Rate (BER). The system also has the advantages of fast code generating speed and ease of synchronization, and is capable of supplying large amount of sequences. © World Scientific Publishing Company.Chaos synchronizationSpatiotemporal chaosSpreading spectrum communicationOn generating binary spatiotemporal chaotic sequences and its application on spread-spectrum communicationsArticle000236619600021
