dc.description.abstract | A low-cost Helmholtz resonator system is described. The system is simple to construct and yet yields high quality absorption line shapes and a value for the velocity of sound accurate to within 1%. The experiment should be a welcome addition to an under-graduate laboratory where there is a general lack of acoustics experiments and in particular precision measurement of acoustic parameters. | |
