dc.description.abstractThin films of a solid electrolyte based on Li2O·P2O5·Nb2O 5 glasses have been prepared by vacuum evaporation technique. The optimum conditions for preparing a highly conducting composition, 60Li2O· 30P2O5· 10Nb2O5 are reported. Electrical conductivity values of such films are of the order of, σ100=2×10-6 Ω-1 cm-1. Electrochemical cells comparising the thin film electrolyte layer with lithium as anode and TiS2 pellet as cathode have also been fabricated and the discharge characteristics studied. The open circuit voltage and the discharge capacity are approximately 2.4 V and 120 μAh cm2 respectively. © 1990.
