ScholarBank@NUS Repository.||Abstract:||Thin films of a solid electrolyte based on Li2O·P2O5·Nb2O 5 glasses have been prepared by vacuum evaporation technique. The optimum conditions for preparing a highly conducting composition, 60Li2O· 30P2O5· 10Nb2O5 are reported. Electrical conductivity values of such films are of the order of, σ100=2×10-6 Ω-1 cm-1. Electrochemical cells comparising the thin film electrolyte layer with lithium as anode and TiS2 pellet as cathode have also been fabricated and the discharge characteristics studied.
