dc.description.abstractA local d-dimensional lagrangian with a local Kac-Moody gauge symmetry is constructed. A large class of gauge field lagrangians are shown to have a hamiltonian and a unitary state space. Matter fields are gauge-invariantly coupled to the Kac-Moody gauge fields; the Kac-Torodov minimal realization of the super-Kac-Moody algebra is utilized in defining the representation content and the kinetic term for the matter fields.
