ScholarBank@NUS Repository.||Abstract:||The interpretation of experimental measurements of the energy distributions of low-density, ion swarms drifting in an electric field is discussed. The ratio, R, of the mean energy of a measured energy distribution to that predicted by Wannier's equation is found to have an expected value greater than one at intermediate field strengths.
