Abstract: The preparation of ZnS nanoparticles without any stabilizer was attempted. As a first step, Zn nanoparticles were prepared by the inert-gas evaporation technique with induction heating. The Zn nanoparticles were mixed with Na2S solution under ultrasonic radiation. Following chemical reaction, the product was washed with distilled water then dried under reduced pressure. Finally, the sample was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), UV-spectrophotometry, differential thermal analysis (DTA), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), and X-ray photoelectron spectrometry (XPS).
