Interpolymer complexes through hydrophobic interactions: C60-end-capped poly(ethylene oxide)/poly(methacrylic acid) complexes. Macromolecules 33 (23) : 8894-8897. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. https://doi.org/10.1021/ma000614o | Abstract: | The hydrophobic effect of C60 on the complexation between poly(methacrylic acid) (PMAA) and poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) was studied. It was found that the introduction of hydrophobic C60 in PEO, had a dramatic effect on the complex formation of the PEO/PMAA system. Similar to the PEO/PMAA system, there were hydrogen bonding interactions between the carboxylic acid groups of PMAA and the ether oxygens in the double end capped C60 PEO. | Source Title: | Macromolecules | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/94081 | ISSN: | 00249297 | DOI: | 10.1021/ma000614o |
