Abstract: When [Cu3(phis)3](ClO4)3, obtained from Cu(ClO4)2·6H2O with the Na+ or K+ salt of the phis anion (Hphis = N-(2-pyridylmethyl)-L-histidine), is reacted with LiClO4, the tricopper cationic structure rearranged to accommodate a Li+ ion to form [(ClO4)Li{Cu3(phis)3}] (ClO4)3 which can also be prepared directly by reacting Cu(ClO4)2· 6H2O with the Li+ salt of the phis anion.
