The slow decomposition of C60 molecules into carbon clusters overlaps with the fast crystallization of the clusters to form graphene, giving rise to a unique graphene-on-C60 structure. With further thermal activation, the decomposition of the buried C60 molecules transforms the intercalated structure into a bilayer graphene sheet. Copyright © 2012 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
