Inorganica Chimica Acta 295 (1) : 9-17. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | Six neutral monomers of the type [Zn(SC6H4X-4)2(N-N)] (where X=H, NH2, OH; (N-N)=tetramethylethylenediamine (tmen); 2,2′-bipyridyl (bpy) and 1,10-phenanthroline (phen)) have been synthesized in quantitative yield by reacting bis(4-substituted benzenethiolato)zinc(II) with an equimolar amount of the dinitrogen bases. The crystal and molecular structures of all the compounds were determined by X-ray crystallography. A simple neutral compound [Zn(SPh)2(bpy)] was also prepared for comparison. The compounds show some interesting X-HS (where X=O or N) hydrogen bonding pattern in the solid state. © 1999 Elsevier Science S.A. | Source Title: | Inorganica Chimica Acta | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/93294 | ISSN: | 00201693 |
