dc.description.abstractThe independent design procedure for robust decentralized controllers proposed by Hovd and Skogestad (1994) is extended to non-square systems with more inputs than outputs. The proposed design method is applied to a non-square mixing tank example. The results further justify that non-square systems should be controlled in thier original non-square form instead of squaring them by adding or eliminating variables.
