In particular, we investigate how the properties of the capping layer can be modified in order to enhance the perpendicular component (τ⊥) of the spin transfer torque vis-a-vis the inplane (τ¶) component. The results suggest that the capping layer can serve as an effective medium for tuning the ratio of τ⊥ to τ¶ by varying its physical properties. © 2006 IEEE.||Source Title:||IEEE Transactions on Magnetics||URI:||http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/83702||ISSN:||00189464||DOI:||10.1109/TMAG.2010.2044141|
