Abstract: An intelligent and monolithic integration of optical power splitter (OPS) and optically switchable cross-connect (OXC) were presented. It was found that the measured crosstalk was around -17 dB and the average insertion loss about 5.25 dB. It was also found that the crosstalk and the total insertion loss, with a bias voltage of 4.7 V, were -16.5 and 5.4 dB respectively. It was observed that the measured injection current at switch-ON state was 370 mA corresponding to an injection current density of 950 A/cm 2.
