ScholarBank@NUS Repository.||Abstract:||This paper describes the use and application of the program PALSS, a user-friendly PC-AT based computer program for the analysis of performance of lightning shielding systems. Several examples of performance and design studies on complex and asymmetrical systems and structures are presented. As the computer studies provide very realistic simulations of lightning strikes to three-dimensional structures and their shielding systems, it is easy to get a quick feel for the behaviour of the designs to evolve an optimal solution.
