dc.description.abstractA power frequency and frequency deviation monitor, capable of measuring, displaying and recording power frequency f (50 or 60 Hz) and its deviation Δf to millihertz resolution (i.e. 0.001 Hz change about the nominal value), has been developed. Basically it uses the phase locked loop circuit as a frequency multiplier and, with a gate time of 1 s, the results of f and Δf are monitored every 1 s and are output on light-emitting diode (LED) decimal display units, paper chart recorders or in binary form for direct processing in a digital computer. Such information is normally used for power system control action studies. © 1984.
