The use of a large-volume wall-jet detector for cyclic staircase voltammetry following normal-phase HPLC separation is described. Both reductive and oxidative ranges are investigated. The detection limits of the technique (of the order of tens of picomoles) are comparable to other scanning voltammetry techniques following reversed-phase liquid chromatography. The technique is tested for some oxy and nitro derivatives of polyaromatic hydrocarbons, catecholamines, and oestrogen steroids. © 1987 American Chemical Society.
