dc.description.abstract | The suitability and performance of slot- and event-based models were compared for single-stage batch plants. The slot-based model was compared with the best existing model that decouples tasks and units. It is showed that this model without decoupling uses fewer binaries and performs faster than the former. The slot-based model was also compared with the event-based model. The models were solved for objectives such as profit-maximization, makespan-minimization and cost-minimization. | |
