This paper introduces a procedure to assess structural damage severity in the context of the modified DLV method using static response. Essential to the proposed procedure is the minimization of the difference of the eigen-values of flexibility matrix between the finite element model and experimental data. Such an optimization problem is solved by an iteration scheme using the penalty function method and results are the structural parameters at the damaged state. Numerical and experimental examples verify the capability of the proposed procedure in the case of limited sensors used.
