Title: | Thermodynamic modeling of surface segregation in Au-Ti nanoparticles | Authors: | Jayaganthan, R. Chow, G.M. |
Keywords: | Au-Ti Nanoparticles Quasichemical Model Segregation Thermodynamics |
Issue Date: | 2005 | Citation: | Jayaganthan, R.,Chow, G.M. (2005). Thermodynamic modeling of surface segregation in Au-Ti nanoparticles. Journal of Metastable and Nanocrystalline Materials 23 : 259-262. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | The surface composition of nanoparticles is generally different from the average or bulk composition; this phenomenon is commonly referred to as surface segregation. In the present work, the surface segregation in Au-Ti nanoparticles has been analyzed based on a thermodynamic model that incorporates the size effect into the quasichemical model. The calculated surface compositions of Au-Ti nanoparticles are compared with that of the bulk Au-Ti alloys. | Source Title: | Journal of Metastable and Nanocrystalline Materials | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/73959 | ISSN: | 14226375 |
