A fiber-optic refractometer for the accurate determination of the refractive index of an unknown test liquid is presented. The processing used in this refractometer reduces the drift associated with the laser source and detector and is only slightly more complicated than that used in the conventional time-domain fiber-optic refractometers. A substantial improvement in measurement accuracy is obtained.
