A 'Do It Better Each Time' strategy has been promoted recently in the quality management literature, in preference to the 'Do It Right First Time' approach to managing quality. This paper discusses these concepts from the viewpoints of the traditional quality management 'gurus': Philip B. Crosby, W. Edwards Deming, and Joseph M. Juran, and examines how they relate to current quality management philosophies.
