Abstract: Monte Carlo simulation was performed of magnetotransport across a 50 × 50 nm nano-granular-in-gap film. The film consisted of cobalt islands embedded in an insulating matrix between contact electrodes. The model assumed a random island distribution of average radii of 2 nm, with a packing density of just below the percolation limit. Results indicated that for non-magnetic case, tunneling magnetoresistance increased monotonically with temperature and cobalt showed a monotonic decrease with a large percentage change.
