The convergence of AR, collaboration and handheld devices opens up more opportunities for strengthening the effectiveness of social interaction in collaborative learning. We conceptualize it as a new form of collaborative learning, collaborative AR social learning. Based on the reflections of the sociality characteristics of mobile collaborative AR, we develop a model for better understanding this emerging instructional medium. It has implications for the development of mobile collaborative AR applications for educational purposes in the future. © 2011 IEEE.||Source Title:||Proceedings of the 2011 11th IEEE International Conference on Advanced Learning Technologies, ICALT 2011||URI:||http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/71808||ISBN:||9780769543468||DOI:||10.1109/ICALT.2011.145|
