We proposed a novel hexagonal nano-ring resonator based on silicon photonic crystals (PCs) structure. The photonic crystals are consisted of Si PCs structure of air cylinders in hexagonal lattice. We studied the effects of the spacing between hexagonal nano-ring and waveguide. The relation between drop mechanisms and the symmetry resonant modes is also investigated. We demonstrated the manipulation of controlling the drop light propagation direction by using two cascaded nanoring resonators. © 2009 IEEE NANO Organizers.
