dc.description.abstract | This paper presents key research and development (R&D) programs in microwave, millimetre wave (mmW), submillimeter wave (submmW), and Terahertz technologies in the public institutions in Singapore. Firstly, the background information on the overall public R&D investment is provided. The key R&D areas and organizations related to microwave engineering in Singapore are introduced. The R&D programs of microwave engineering are then elaborated. The information about the objectives, scopes of work, and significant achievements of the programs is mentioned. This is supplemented by mentioning the unique R&D facilities for microwave engineering research in Singapore. Finally, the paper is concluded by sharing a model to translate R&D investment and collaboration to business in order to benefit the microwave engineering industry in Singapore. © 2011 EUROPEAN MICROWAVE ASSOC. | |
