|Title:||Orthogonal aberration functions for high-aperture optical systems||Authors:||Sheppard, C.J.R.||Issue Date:||May-2004||Citation:||Sheppard, C.J.R. (2004-05). Orthogonal aberration functions for high-aperture optical systems. Journal of the Optical Society of America A: Optics and Image Science, and Vision 21 (5) : 832-838. A general weighting is considered, for which special cases are applicable to systems satisfying the Abbe since condition and the Herschel condition. Paraboloidal mirrors are also considered. This weighting can also be used to account empirically for Fresnel reflection losses in the optical system. The functions can be expressed in an analytic form. Expressions are given for 24 low-order aberrations. © 2004 Optical Society of America.||Source Title:||Journal of the Optical Society of America A: Optics and Image Science, and Vision||URI:||http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/67204||ISSN:||10847529||DOI:||10.1364/JOSAA.21.000832|
