dc.description.abstract | A two-dimensional sediment dispersion model has been developed which simulates the transport of a cloud of fine radioactive tracers along the east coast of Singapore. The results of a hydrodynamic model of the tidal streaming is used to obtain the tidal velocity field in the area of interest. The sediment model assumes the time rate of erosion and deposition of silty sediment as linear functions of the bed shear stress. The predicted travel speeds of the radioactive cloud compare favourably with the field experiments. © 1992. | |
