dc.description.abstractA simple finite element analysis of axisymmetrically loaded shells of revolution is presented herein, using the beam on elastic foundation analogy. The analysis requires very few elements and can be easily programmed on a microcomputer. Numerical examples are presented and the results are in good agreement with those from available solutions.
