This paper describes the design and off-center-frequency analysis of a planar slot array which uses a single-layer feeding mechanism. The feed consists of a series of cascaded T-junctions, which distribute the input power in alternating phase and in arbitrary ratios to the radiating branches. The design approach affords good control over the radiating slot offsets from branch centerlines. The analysis procedures for the feed network and the radiating branches are integrated to facilitate the prediction of the frequency-dependent performance parameters of the entire array. Measured results for a prototype array confirm the theory.
