Issue Date: | 15-Nov-1993 | Citation: | Lim, S.C.,Lee, S.H.,Liu, Y.B.,Seah, K.H.W. (1993-11-15). Wear maps for uncoated high-speed steel cutting tools. Wear 170 (1) : 137-144. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | A map describing the crater-wear characteristics of uncoated high-speed steel (HSS) cutting tools during dry turning operations is presented. Combining this with an earlier map for flank-wear characteristics, an overall wear damage map for uncoated HSS tools during turning operations is proposed. In this diagram, there exists a region where machining conditions are such that the overall wear damage to the HSS tool is at a minimum. The implications of this diagram are then discussed in the context of practical machining operations. © 1993. | Source Title: | Wear | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/58920 | ISSN: | 00431648 |
