dc.description.abstract | An expression has been obtained for the effectiveness of a spiral coil heat exchanger (SCHE) which consists of a number of horizontal layers of spirally wound finned tubes. An experimental SCHE has been fabricated and tested in a closed-loop test set-up to obtain its effectiveness. The effect of the various design parameters on the effectiveness of the SCHE has been studied. | |
