Title: | Strain rate effect on representative volume element with penny-shaped crack under dynamic loading | Authors: | Wang, Z.-P. Huang, F.-L. |
Issue Date: | Sep-1995 | Citation: | Wang, Z.-P.,Huang, F.-L. (1995-09). Strain rate effect on representative volume element with penny-shaped crack under dynamic loading. Theoretical and Applied Fracture Mechanics 23 (3) : 209-217. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | A damage model for brittle materials under dynamic loading is presented. The nucleation, growth, coalescence and fragmentation of microcracks are considered. The influence of inertial effects on dynamic growth of microcracks, which is a major characteristic of dynamic loading, is taken into account. The critical condition for microcrack dynamic growth is obtained. In addition, microcrack interaction is accounted for implicitly in the model. © 1995. | Source Title: | Theoretical and Applied Fracture Mechanics | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/58733 | ISSN: | 01678442 |
