Abstract: An optical fringe projector technique for micro-component is developed and analyzed. Using arrangement of two-fiber based on Young's fringe interferometer, the sinusoidal fringe pattern has been obtained. Due to separation of two fibers located in front of two neighboring faces of a beamsplitter, the fringe pattern with different pitches in the superimposed area of two laser beams from two fibers can be readily provided by adjusting the location of one of two fibers. The compact set-up by incorporating with two beamsplitters and a long distance microscope enables the fine pitch of interference fringe pattern projected onto the surface of micro-component. The experimental results show good visibility of fringe pattern with fringe pitch to 10 μm and the designed interferometer can be used as a fringe projector for micro-component measurement.
