A family of parameterized polynomials is proposed to improve and simplify the traditional method of designing a polynomial curve. This family of polynomials consists of four parameterized polynomials each having one parameter and different boundary continuity. Because their kinematic relations between the kinematic features and the parameter are known, a designer can control the continuity of the curve by selecting different parameterized polynomials in the family and vary the kinematic feature by changing the parameter according to the known kinematic relations.
