Abstract: The bit-error-rate (BER) performance of single code and multicode channelization schemes for high rate data transmission in direct-sequence code-division-multiple-access (DS/CDMA) systems is compared in this letter. The multipath interference (MPI) effects, which become significant as the data rate increases, are accurately included in the analysis. It is shown that notable performance improvement can be achieved by using multi-code scheme in the multipath fading channel.
