ScholarBank@NUS Repository.||Abstract:||This paper presents a novel numerical approach to the solution of differential equations governing the deformation of a circular cylindrical water tank whose axis is vertical. The approach is a combination of the Runge-Kutta numerical method of solution of ordinary differential equations and of numerical optimization methods. The results obtained using this approach are compared with the results from other methods.
