dc.description.abstractA note on equivalence of proper orthogonal decomposition (POD) is presented. It is a powerful and elegant method for data analysis aimed at obtaining low-dimensional approximate descriptions of a high-dimensional process. It is an important technique for data reduction and feature extraction and has been widely used in various disciplines including image processing, signal analysis, data compression and process identification.
