Title: | Determination of equilibrium isotherms using dynamic column breakthrough and constant flow equilibrium desorption | Authors: | Malek, A. Farooq, S. |
Issue Date: | Jan-1996 | Citation: | Malek, A.,Farooq, S. (1996-01). Determination of equilibrium isotherms using dynamic column breakthrough and constant flow equilibrium desorption. Journal of Chemical and Engineering Data 41 (1) : 25-32. ScholarBank@NUS Repository. | Abstract: | Reliable adsorption equilibrium data are key elements in the design of an adsorption separation process. Two excellent metnods for obtaining single-componet equilbrium isotherm data are the dynamic column breakthrough method and the constant flow equilibrium desoprion method. Both these methods were used to derive the equilibrium isotherms of methane, ethane, and propane in activated carbon and silica gel. The experimental setup and analysis required for these methods are elaborated. The equilibrium results for these gases for a moderate pressure range and at three different temperatures are presented. | Source Title: | Journal of Chemical and Engineering Data | URI: | http://scholarbank.nus.edu.sg/handle/10635/52692 | ISSN: | 00219568 |
